Default Joseph Elliot's Patent Concave Razor

Finished this one recently. Hand sanded the blade on curved forms and rescaled in mottled horn.

Very interesting razor. I can't see from the pictures - is the blade is one piece or is it more like frameback?

Oh I like that! Nice job you did there. I'm interested about that blade too, faux frameback?

Looks very much like a couple of true framebacks that I have
Hang on and enjoy the ride...

    I like it alot..

This razor is actually my favorite grind..... I think it's considered a half rattler- faux frameback.

It is as heavy as a full wedge but shaves like a full hollow- I have a W&B feather edge that is very much alike.

    Nice restoration. :-)

I think at one point it was called a concave grind, I've seen a number like this. It's a typical wedge grind, but then the blade was turned 90 degrees and ground to take out the lower part. So it's all one piece of steel.

I agree. The etching on the feather edge refers to concave as well. It's a neat grind.
