    Default 8/8 Manufrance - Cocobolo & 15/16 Rich. Abr. Herder - Snakewood

    Hi !

    2 straight razor today, a old French razor, Manufrance Saint Etienne, 8/8, I made the scales in cocobolo, and a Solingen Rich Abr Herder 14, like a Fila 14, I made the scales in Snakewood.

    What have you used for the finish? Or are they just sanded and buffed/polished?

    I am not usually a fan of wood scales. Probably because most that I have seen are not finished and fitted properly. Your razor, however superior in both of those respects. Some of the finest wood scales I've ever come across. Thanks for sharing.

    Yep Zephyr, polished and finished with carnauba wax (for the cocobolo)

    Those are really nice wood scales. I would have no problem owning those.

    When I see a New Thread by Ali I start to smile even before I see the pics.

    Nice work man. These scales are wonderful. Nice lined wedge on the snakewood too! I also like the rounded edges. Too often scales that aren't rounded look bulky.....
