2 night. W&B and a Tower Brand.
Did these this evening. The W&B was a bit iffy in spots but it came out nicely. Black horn scales with original wedge.
The J. Holler Tower brand was so nice I only had to start at 320 grit to clean it up.
I have a thing for red. I used paint from my car ( touch up paints) to make the acrylic for my scales. Crimson Red Pearl. It doesn't show the true color here but imagine a Candy Apple that you peel the coating off and make some scales with it. That's it. A white ivory wedge completes the razor.

Very nice!
And the red scales seem intriguing to say the least.
Don't feel bad about not getting the depth to show in the pictures,
some days I feel lucky to get the subject to show in mine.It is just Whisker Whacking
Relax and Enjoy!

Thanks pfries,
But oh I do. I wish you could see this thing as I can see it. The photos look terrible to say the least. In person the red is vivid. Here is just looks sort of orangeish,,, kinda reddish,, kinda blah! I want to lick it and believe I'll taste a Cherry lollipop.

Oh gee, thanks for the vote of confidence. One razor nut to another!
The blind leading the blind.
Preaching to the choir.
One junkie to another.
Honor among thieves.
etc. etc. etc.
First I'm matching razors to my brushes,, now my car, and you call it a "misfit"? One of us needs help and I think it's you.
But hey, if it's OK with you that your the last one on your block who's razor doesn't match his car it's not my fault.Last edited by mycarver; 12-02-2013 at 08:41 AM.

Thanked: 0Those look like really nice restoration jobs. I really like the way the Tower came out.
Color can be a hard bit to nail, but at least when it comes to something like the color on the scales you'll be the only one who would know if it's off.
Best (unsolicited) advice I'd have off the top of my head is to watch the color temperature. If shooting where there's mixed lighting, like daylight coming in through the window and a tungsten bulb above. It can be a lot tougher to get the color right. Try setting the color of the light on the camera - usually marked as 'WB' (White Balance) for the conditions of the shot. If not on the camera, a lot of photo editors have the ability to set the base temperature.
