2 X 3 = 2
It sort of works out when you do two 3 pin razors in an evening. The answer is 2!
I took off with the Pearl King and before I knew it I realized I forgot before shots. It wasn't all that bad with some "patina" and minor pits on the face ( fortunately not on the gold wash ) which I was able to remove and duplicate the grind patterns to make them disappear. The back was much easier. The scales are so-so but came out nice. I love this cracked ice design. Pretty razor.
The Double Duck was a bit rougher and I remembered to take some quick shots. I reproduced the texture on the blade, polished the shaft but put back in the "factory " scratches as they didn't go for mirror finish I presume from the examples I've seen. Cleaned up the scales. And on this , as well as the Pearl King the standard SS washers would have looked just terrible on the finished blades. So I turned down some so they would have the same dimensions as the original smaller style washers. Ahhh,, now I was happy with the look. As "factory fresh" as I could get these.
Yeah,, you caught it, the last pic doesn't belong with this razor. It's in the next post . Sorry.Last edited by mycarver; 12-03-2013 at 07:28 AM.

And the DD Satinedge. It was kinda messy but turned out OK. Nice blade. She'll find a home here with her twin brothers. Now I need to find the rest of the clan!

The work you've done on that Satinedge is impressive! Especially the transformation of the blade itself!

Thanks!
But here is a question for you again. All of these I've seen have no gold on the shafts like the Goldedges. But why do I see what looks like traces of it in the logo words Duck and edge! Was there maybe gold just in the lettering!
Here too I want to get it right,

I found my answer on the blade itself. I used some solvents to remove the wax and found gold! I also was given some original advertising for this razor and it stated the shaft was Satin finished. But I do think the ducks were painted as the dark color in there won't come off but there is gold under it.
I think though the top of the spine was polished but the sides were satiny. And the literature said the "tip is gold " ??
And the last shot seems to show a definite Matte finish. Grungy for sure but there isn't any shine around this flat on the shaft.
Hmmmm
Then again it is a Satin edge...
