Very nice, i especially like the detail where "hamon" continues into a thumb notch.

Exceptional work there Charlie love the square heal & toe with the thumb notching.

How does it hold an end with the wrought iron as my understanding was that wrought iron was a low carbon steel not real good for an edge or does the 1095 mix with it to keep the carbon content up to maintain its hardness
    Saved,

Wow! That's a gorgeous piece of work!

And I think I've found the scales I want to use when I have a razor made. (Yeah...I don't have any razors yet, but a man must have dreams!)

Great finish on both the blade and the scales. Good job!

    Cheers.

Another fine piece Charlie. You gotta tell me how you get that awesome texture on your g10 and micarta brother1
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

The blade is a sandwich, there is a 1095 core with wrought iron on either side. The cutting edge is all 1095.

Here is a link to me texturing scales, same process I just used a ball end cutter this time.

Cool Razor, Charlie. It's like a Lewis blade with an old-school tang. Two great designs together. The scales set it off nicely!
It does indeed make one rub his beard and contemplate!

Muted elegance...high style. This razor could easily be in The Museum of Modern Art. I'll echo sharptonn on the old school thing. For me there is enough here for a continuity with the vintage razors I usually like, there isn't a break to indicate the 'new style' of straight razor. I really think it is brilliant.
