1st re-scale; Winchester razor
About a week ago I bought this WINCHESTER razor at a local antique shop for $12. One of the plastic scales was broken, and the blade needed a little polishing, otherwise it was in good shape. I figured it was a good candidate for my first attempt at re-scaling, and this is the result. Scale material is maple, with walnut wedge. Washers are pop rivet heads and the brass rod came from the local hobby store. After assembly, I honed it and was impressed with its hair-popping goodness.

I like that you went simple with the design. It works really well with a name like Winchester! Enjoy the shave! We look forward to seeing your next project.

It seems most Winchesters need better scales. Solid and rustic!

I rest my case.

Thanked: 3228The scales look pretty good with a nice contrast between the maple and the walnut. Sounds like it honed up real nice for you too.

Looks great honestly, I'll be happy if my first restore looks as good. Think I'm gonna buy a belt sander next week and try my hand at it.

Very nice first restore, congrats!
I can also vouch for microfasteners, they have made my first couple of attempts so much easier (especially when it comes to centering the blade).
