    Default 1st re-scale; Winchester razor

About a week ago I bought this WINCHESTER razor at a local antique shop for $12. One of the plastic scales was broken, and the blade needed a little polishing, otherwise it was in good shape. I figured it was a good candidate for my first attempt at re-scaling, and this is the result. Scale material is maple, with walnut wedge. Washers are pop rivet heads and the brass rod came from the local hobby store. After assembly, I honed it and was impressed with its hair-popping goodness.

I like that you went simple with the design. It works really well with a name like Winchester! Enjoy the shave! We look forward to seeing your next project.

It seems most Winchesters need better scales. Solid and rustic!

The scales look pretty good with a nice contrast between the maple and the walnut. Sounds like it honed up real nice for you too.

Nice job for a first try.
    Might I suggest an improvement?
Stop by a train hobby shop and ask for 0-80 washers. Or else order from microfasteners.com

Pretty nice for a first go! Very clean looking and it's good to hear it takes a keen edge. Have to agree about getting some washers - that's the only thing that detracts from the overall good looks.
