    Default Fraternity with custom acrylic

I had recently seen an original FWE with scales that were a translucent orange color. I liked the look of the orange, the fancy bolsters and the blued tang I decided to build something along those lines.

I happen to have a handful of razors with the same style scales on them. I found a Fraternity and a Tower razor that would work. The Tower scales were damaged so this became my bolster donor. The Fraternity scales would be a direct replacement on the Tower.
I made up several variations of the acrylic ( one, which will be used on another FWE resto) and chose one for this razor.
I cleaned up the blade and polished the face and blued the shaft.
I cut out scales from my acrylic and fitted the bolsters to them. The original black wedge fitted right back into place.

In the photos you'll see the Fraternity, the Tower and the FWE lined up.
As for the Tower I may be breaking it down again as I'm not completely pleased with it. There is a very shallow etch on the face that reads "Barbers Use" that is so shallow that it may just disappear allowing me to clean the blade properly.

Also included is a small selection of razors I have with the similar scales so you don't think I'm just butchering scales for fun!

Great looking set of shavers you have! I always thought it would be cool to have a razor with fraternity letters/symbols on it.
