Frederick Reynolds Wedge 7/8 restore (picture heavy) part 1
When i usually get a beat up razor i almost always replace the scales and shine it up.
This time i wanted to restore the whole thing and keep the original scales.
Got a nice BIG Frederick Reynolds 7/8 wedge and wanted to try to revive it by keeping it vintage as it was.
This is the razor and this is what it looked like after i took it apart.
Pins came off easily with a file and my flush cutters so that went well.
The scales were a wedge-less design which made it simpler for me.
I then went about and sanded blade and scales by hand, using 220 grit all the way up till 3000 grit and then finished off with Mothers Mag polish.
Part 2 next so that i can add more pictures.*****HAVE A GREAT SHAVE*****

This is my part 2 so that i can put the pictures of the finished blade
I have seen restored razors from others like Gssixgun,Mycarver and more and mine does not even come close but we have to start somewhere in life.
I will be leaving the honing for this blade at a later date as wedges put up a big fight with me(from past experiences) and it will take some time to hone it if it doesn't agree with me.
I have honed wedges before and when they are ready they become my best shavers.
I have never shaved with this brand so hope all goes well.
After all was sanded down it was this.
This is my final product and it feels like a beast.
Feedback,GOOD or BAD IS WELCOMED.
