All American Sheffield style Kamisori

I wanted to take the time to share with you the first razor I ever made start to finish. The razor was ground out of an old 1" wide x 1/4" thick American nicolson on file. As an avid Sheffield lover there is no surprise that the blade resembles the blades I love most. Since this was the first razor I was ever making I decided to do something a bit different; since I've never owned or shaved with a kamisori before I decided it was time to add one to the box.

I did however make one significant mistake- one which by the time I realized it was too late- I made the blade for a lefty. Oh well, I pressed on anyway. I think the end result was really pretty good for a first shot at it- and boy was it a learning experience.

The asymmetrical grind looks mean; can't wait to get some face time with this bad boy... thankfully I am a fully ambidextrous shaver so I don't think the lefty thing will be much of a hold up...

More about the blade..... 7/8 wide, wax leather cord tang and a tail that I shapes to look like flame while remaining 100% ergo right or left handed!
