    Rail road spike knives are common, but the spikes are really not good steel for knifemaking. Even the 'high carbon' spikes have less than 0.2% carbon which means they can't be hardened. They're good for forging practice, but not much else.

    This razor looks Post Apocalyptic to me. In a general way I really like the scope of this forum where you can see razors from the past and razors from the future. The craftsmanship and imagination of many of the modern makers is stunning. Hats off to the cutting edge as well as the thousands of nameless workers of the past who put their lives into making this magnificent tool.
