    Default Wosty in Horn

    Oh I love this blade!
It has to be one of the cleanest examples I have had the pleasure to do. The blade was in very nice condition and only took a minimal amount of work to make it gleam.
The scales were originally thought to be black Horn. Unless I had other ideas. Well I had this sheet of horn with the most beautiful streaking on it that I thought would be perfect. Not black, but close, not blonde but has some streaks along with warm browns and sections of translucence and a shimmer of silvery gold if that makes any sense. But truly the photos don't do it justice in any way. And I've tried
I used original scales as a template to duplicate these. The originals were in 3 pieces. Also included the original wedge. Brass washers and pins put it all together.
But just look at the etch on the blade, the stamp on the shaft, the reverse side stamp. Oh my.
This razor knocks me back on my heels. Oh, I wish it were a keeper!

The pipe razor arrived today. Mycarver did some beautiful work on the scales. His description of the colors in the horn was spot on. I am looking forward to doing business with Mycarver again...when I find another diamond in the rough.

How did you get that finish on the blade? The etchings are just popping? Awesome work!
