Thanked: 0First Restoration, Stiletto Cutlery NY
Alright so I finished it up. Although not without a few learning lessons.
Lesson #1. Don't sand the surface of colored horn. I ordered red oversized scale blanks and well although I like the way they turned out they--aren't red.
Lesson #2. Ouch, be careful when polishing, got myself pretty good just prior to taking this picture.
Before:
After:
Seems to be a pretty decent shaver, The blade says it's made in Germany. I really don't know anything about the company however. Overall, I'm fairly pleased, I paid $10 for the razor and about another $20 in parts. This was my first restoration and it definitely won't be my last!

Thanked: 0Ha, yes it was. You can still see some red streaking in the horn. It's growing on me more and more.
I purchased the oversized blanks at Red Straight Razor Water Buffalo Scales
but when sanding them down well, I sanded all the red off!

Thanked: 4827hmm if I could be guaranteed the would always look like that I'd order a bunch. I have some horn that looks like that except I had to pay a premium for mine. lol
