Default First Restoration, Stiletto Cutlery NY

Alright so I finished it up. Although not without a few learning lessons.
Lesson #1. Don't sand the surface of colored horn. I ordered red oversized scale blanks and well although I like the way they turned out they--aren't red.
Lesson #2. Ouch, be careful when polishing, got myself pretty good just prior to taking this picture.

Seems to be a pretty decent shaver, The blade says it's made in Germany. I really don't know anything about the company however. Overall, I'm fairly pleased, I paid $10 for the razor and about another $20 in parts. This was my first restoration and it definitely won't be my last!

Nice first. The price is not bad either. Congrats.

Nice razor, awesome horn. It was bought as red?

Ha, yes it was. You can still see some red streaking in the horn. It's growing on me more and more.
I purchased the oversized blanks at Red Straight Razor Water Buffalo Scales
but when sanding them down well, I sanded all the red off!

hmm if I could be guaranteed the would always look like that I'd order a bunch. I have some horn that looks like that except I had to pay a premium for mine. lol

I like them better now than the red dye job.
