Thanked: 457/8 Spanish Point and Friction Folder in Lignum Vitae
I've been doing my knife thing a lot, which means I've had a lot of shop time recently. I was able to get this one finished up last night just in time for a shave.
Here it is roughed, still just a square point.
From the front.
At 220 ready for HT.
Finished up. I left the forge scale on it, but hit it with a little 00 steel wool to give it a satin finish. Lignum vitae scales, such a wonderful wood to work with. Just took it down to 220 and put it on the buffer for a little shine. Shave was buttery. I think its the Jnat I'm finishing it with.
I made this for my dad for his birthday. It's my first friction folder. AEB-L stainless razor steel with forge scale. Lignum vitae scales. Bone spacer. Took through my usual progression, but stopped after the 8000 Shapton. You could almost shave with this little guyBtw, I think it's the only present my dad has ever liked!
Thanks for looking y'all.
TonyLet me know if you need any help with shaving, honing, etc.
