Default 7/8 Spanish Point and Friction Folder in Lignum Vitae

I've been doing my knife thing a lot, which means I've had a lot of shop time recently. I was able to get this one finished up last night just in time for a shave.

Here it is roughed, still just a square point.

Finished up. I left the forge scale on it, but hit it with a little 00 steel wool to give it a satin finish. Lignum vitae scales, such a wonderful wood to work with. Just took it down to 220 and put it on the buffer for a little shine. Shave was buttery. I think its the Jnat I'm finishing it with.

I made this for my dad for his birthday. It's my first friction folder. AEB-L stainless razor steel with forge scale. Lignum vitae scales. Bone spacer. Took through my usual progression, but stopped after the 8000 Shapton. You could almost shave with this little guy Btw, I think it's the only present my dad has ever liked!

You're just partial to lignum and white stuff I would've never thought to try it though without seeing your beautiful creations!

It was a joy to work with, almost like clay really. The scales were a breeze. I just rough cut the shape and ran the bandsaw down the center and did the rest on the belt grinder. All I had to do to finish it was hit it with the buffer on a clean wheel. I think it's the perfect wood for shaving stuff. I found a place in town that has some blocks of it, so I need to go pick up more. I have a feeling I'll be getting a lot of requests for this one.

I got some pink ivory (also a pixel-approved wood) glued up for a knife handle as we speak. I'll post that when I get it finished.
