    Default quick and easy scales

Have this Geneva with a questionable pit near the edge that i wanted new scales on without spending too much time. I also wanted to practice my pinning and mess with some different washers.i used the old scales as a pattern so that i could use the old wedge and save some time. the material is a guitar pick guard blank. it measures .095 and comes with a scratch resistant sticker which made is easy to work with. What do you think?

Pretty cool idea. It reminds of old laminated celluloid. Looks great!

Nice work! You can also use the samples they give out for laminate kitchen/flooring - depending on getting pieces long enough.

Horn is very easy to work with - can be shaped with abrasive paper quickly and polished up with finer grits. Perhaps worth considering for the next project?

It looks great. I was expecting it too look somewhat "cheap" but it doesn't, the white backing that shows on the bevel really works.

thanks! i was a bit hesitant to use it for the same reason but i had to give it a try. i'm wandering now how it would have looked with with more of a rounder edge. Guess i've got plenty to experiment with!
