Default Simmons Hrdwr. Hone,,,took a turn.

Started talking to a newbie who snagged this at a good price. I told him I'd hone it to get him up and running. You know,, a PIF kinda' thing.
It arrived and I noticed the chip in the scales. Not a biggie but could be fixed easily I thought. But I'm just honing it though.
I saw grunge around the hinge and the jimps. Yeah, but I'm just honing it for him I reminded myself.
Aw man,, I can't send this back to him like this.

Next I knew the scales were off, a quick sanding to remove the rust, satin finish on the blade, polished up the spine/shaft and scales after chip was removed.
Honed it up and it's a terrific blade. Didn't go crazy but now he has something he can grow with. Once he gets a strop, some stones, more razors, soaps ,,,,,,,

Nice looking Simmons. Honestly, I'm kind of jealous.

Well if you're a Newbie and need a razor honed,,,,, wait,,,, don't I know you?

LOL... If I remember correctly you have nothing to be jealous of.

And there are those times when a man has to do what a man has to do.

I hesitated and lost out on a Barber's Pet last year. Still regret it.
Really though, I am happy for the owner and bet he is really excited.

I literally just read his response after he saw some photos. Excited? Ahhhh.. Yeah!

I also just finished up the original hone job. Drops hairs like nothing flat.

The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
