Default W&B Improved Silver Steel in Horn

This razor is from King George IV, around the 1820-1830 range, was in reasonable shape, and was sent to the Gentleman's Den to be restored. Here are some picks of it cleaned up in new horn scales. Tried to capture the style of the original scales (except for the third pin) after a bit of looking around.

A nice restore indeed! not sure as to why pin #3 is there but nevertheless looks very nice. The grind is beautiful and the dating is right on, nice to have such a small window of years of manufacturing, Enjoy!

A very nice W&B indeed Phrank, good to see it got a great new home.
was this off the bay because was bidding on a similar stamped blade not to long ago & thought it was an oldie for sure but missed it.

also I am a little confused as this blade must have a 6" long cutting edge to maintain your recent 8/8"+ blade size average LOL
    Saved,
    to shave another day.

Yes - from eBay...loved it's look, wedge, added the third pin simply because I like the look. No matter what state the scales were in, which is usually terrible, I keep them afterwards.

Still waiting on the frame back wb... Valery is doing a careful job to try and keep the etching on the blade...but going to follow the sage advice of a brilliant member here and try my hand on restoring one myself...hopefully it won't result in a cry of, "not that one!!!"

    Nice!

I really like those scales, as well as the pins and collars; and the third pin really puts it over the top.

You got there before me with the size thing substance, it too was my observation that this blade is not Phrank sized.

Do you basically keep valery in business Phrank?

The finished product did come out well though.

Do you like it? To shave with i mean? If you are happy i am happy, but you shouldnt just do things to try to get the approval of your peers, that is a path to ruin, ask anyone who has tried to keep up with the jonses
