    Default My first stubby.

Here is a stubby I got for twenty bucks. Very excited to hone it up and start shaving with it. Only wish I knew the maker. I did leave some war scars but I think it and some flavor. Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1399694647.008620.jpg

Razor rich, but money poor. I should have diversified into Eschers!

Looks like silver steel on the tang but can't make out the spine if it is warranted or an actual name?
    Saved,

Nice razor! I have a Joseph Elliot razor that has the 'Exact' same profile as this Barber that I am currently restoring. They could be 'twins'. Perhaps the same workman made both razors? Interesting...

Anyway...very nice example of a1820-1830's vintage razor, and a real bargain for $20!

You'll find that many from this period had the style, all by various producers. I used to have a John Barber as well like it - Zak now has that razor.

Agreed...I have many razors from that period that have the same 'style'. In those you pictured the second from left is also a shoulder-less (Greaves???) very similar to this Barber. I was 'struck' by the more than just similarity compared to my Elliot...even the 'squared off look' of the spine in the end shot of the blade is exact.

It seemed to me to be more than just style...but...perhaps so...

I think this is a start to a stubby obsession. It is incredible to use something that may have been used by a Civil War soldier. Often the "IN" brands are out of my price range, but these are collectible and affordable.
