Thread: Kron-Punkt

Looking forward to using this blade for some reason.
Broke it down and polished it up. This has a true mirror finish just as the original was.
The scales are Bakelite. I had read on a thread that you can't break the surface of Bakelite and polish it back up. I've done it many times but this time I took some photos to show it certainly can be done.
Here you'll see one scale done as I work on the other to remove the circular scratch at the wedge end. I had to sand quite deep to remove it and as you can see there is plenty of the sanding dust.
Finished it off and you can make out the energy saving bulb in my lamp.
Used Nickle and mini SS washers to put it back together.

I don't understand how you do that - it's simply magic. What a beauty.

Yeah I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I'll see if it's "magical" as I'm going to try it out now. A long day and I hope this is a little reward at the end of it.

Shave? Oh man! I know Dovo picked up the name in the late 60's but this isn't like any Dovo that slid across my bench. This ones a keeper for sure. Not that I ever sell any.
I generally like heavier blades. This almost felt like it was so thin and light that it gave the illusion it contoured to your face somehow. It was on par with the Otto Fromm I just did. Now that too was quite a blade.
With that one I could just ignore WTG , XTG and just went ATG. Didn't try it with this one as I was just kicking back and enjoying it ( along with the DD Satinwedge for a few passes) but this has a spot in the rotation for sure.

As for the emboldened part of you post - that's why I love 4/8's. Though I have never been able to word it as well .

I have tried to like the larger blades - they just look so cool. And though I agree that the heft of a larger blade is awesome/useful, I have given up on them enjoying said "illusion" that comes from a light/small blade that much more lol!!

Either way - thanks for sharing your work. I always enjoy seeing it.
