    Default Kron-Punkt

Looking forward to using this blade for some reason.
Broke it down and polished it up. This has a true mirror finish just as the original was.
The scales are Bakelite. I had read on a thread that you can't break the surface of Bakelite and polish it back up. I've done it many times but this time I took some photos to show it certainly can be done.
Here you'll see one scale done as I work on the other to remove the circular scratch at the wedge end. I had to sand quite deep to remove it and as you can see there is plenty of the sanding dust.
Finished it off and you can make out the energy saving bulb in my lamp.
Used Nickle and mini SS washers to put it back together.

I don't understand how you do that - it's simply magic. What a beauty.

    Thanks!
Yeah I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I'll see if it's "magical" as I'm going to try it out now. A long day and I hope this is a little reward at the end of it.

Shave? Oh man! I know Dovo picked up the name in the late 60's but this isn't like any Dovo that slid across my bench. This ones a keeper for sure. Not that I ever sell any.
I generally like heavier blades. This almost felt like it was so thin and light that it gave the illusion it contoured to your face somehow. It was on par with the Otto Fromm I just did. Now that too was quite a blade.
With that one I could just ignore WTG , XTG and just went ATG. Didn't try it with this one as I was just kicking back and enjoying it ( along with the DD Satinwedge for a few passes) but this has a spot in the rotation for sure.

    That's awesome!! Nice.

As for the emboldened part of you post - that's why I love 4/8's. Though I have never been able to word it as well .

I have tried to like the larger blades - they just look so cool. And though I agree that the heft of a larger blade is awesome/useful, I have given up on them enjoying said "illusion" that comes from a light/small blade that much more lol!!

Either way - thanks for sharing your work. I always enjoy seeing it.

That is beautiful, I don't know how you do it . Looks new , couldn't tell it's the same razor, great work, ear utter, I have found the smaller blades really comfortable also. Especially around the tight spots, although my big blades still get call on the larger areas, gives me a chance to use 2 razors on the same shave !!! Tc

Hence the function of before and afters! Otherwise , for all you'd know is I just rubbed some wax on a nice blade and say "Wheee, look what I just restored" ain't it purdy?

Wish I could have done that 24 times this week.

As to blade size I guess there is that thing knowing the tool you have your hand wrapped around is just a little bigger than the next guy's.
    Ahem!
But lately I have been getting to use some smaller blades and they have been returning excellent shaves. A few small wedges have been just stunning. They leave me
chuckling , shaking my head and muttering something profound like "Oh Man!"

Now every shave I go for BBS. Most blades can get me there but some do it so effortlessly and in almost a playful fashion in a pass or two. You can whip them around your face like a sports car instead of piloting a Semi around it. The Satinwedge, Spike, 2 stub tails among others this week have demonstrated this many times .
And the small wedges are silent. Not that it matters any but these Tin foil edges are noisy.
Like " Hey , do you hear me working?"

But I will say I love them all. Then too I fall in love with something every day. So my opinion isn't worth squat!

Lol... Well I wouldn't say you opinion means squat because your flaky with respect to great and great lol.

Either way, I think it best we stop selling the virtues of the "smaller" blade as another vertue they possess is... generally speaking, they are less desirable, and hence cost much less !! If word gets out, prices will skyrocket .

Tin foil blades have their place... I haven't found many I have liked.
