John Shaw Sheffield in Mammoth Ivory
Started in raw form. it was not stabilized. I ran into several cracks that made some pieces impossible to use. That said, I struggled through and ended up with two strong blanks. The shop stunk like a thousand dentists drilling teeth for days.

That is a really beautiful set of scales. I've been wanting to get a supply of mammoth ivory to work with for a while.
