    Default Opinions on Dubl Duck

Hi guys I'm posting pics of my grandfather's DD in hopes of some ideas of what to do with it. I had hopes to use it but am not to sure with the condition of the pin area. To me it has some nasty rust around the tang/pin area, which I removed most of, and think this might be a deal breaker. Let me know what you guys think. Thank you.Name: SDC10296.jpg

A lite restore will bring that duck back up and running without a problem
The ducks are meant to be great shavers
I think you have a good thing there
There are plenty of restorers over you side of the world that should be able to sort you out
    Saved,
    to shave another day.

there is a section of the classifieds that is called member services. The guys there can take care of that. Send some that are close to you a PM and see who you can get availability from. Some may be very busy and others might be more available. Once you have sent some pictures and had a chin wag send her out for a little refurb and honing. I have a heirloom razor as well. Nothing beats them.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

If it were honed correctly I'd shave with it as is. I have plenty of razors with old inactive rust in the pin area. Never killed me yet. Nice to have your grand dad's razor too. Get it honed up and the pin area cleaned if it bothers you ....... won't hurt you though.

It needs to be honed. Been sitting in a sewing kit for probably 30-40yrs. And since I cleaned most of the rust out it has alot of slop.
