Default First attempt at acrylic scales

Well, they're not the best but this is my first attempt at non-wooden scales on a straight razor. Just as an experiment I got some cheap acrylic sheet for photograph glass from my local hardware store and threw some scales together. I was hoping the wooden wedge would give a nice effect but I'm thinking solid acrylic all around would have been a little better. Maybe with a little bit of texture from a rotary tool would do it some good but I got a really thin piece so it might not hold up very well.

Well,,,,,,,,if the razor is up & shaving that's a good thing,,,regardless of what your scale material is.
Thank you for posting your work,,,,let us see more in near future.

Thank you for viewing, I was thinking of texturing them with a rotary tool but the only acrylic i could get was really thin so it might not hold up.

Thanks for sharing! A first attempt that gives a usable razor is always a win!
