Thanked: 59Todays projects - Cocobolo shorty restore and shavette
Just came out of the shop with these. I've been working on forging my own blade, but this was a nice side trail. The first one is a razor that I picked up at an antique store for $15. It had a chipped blade and cracked scales. So I shortened the blade and made some new Cocobolo scales with a Paduke wedge and brass pins. It still needs honed. Here are the before and after pictures.
My brother-in-law gave me a shavette with a cheap plastic handle. So while I was at it, I polished it up and made a new handle for it out of one piece of Cocobolo. It actually shaves pretty well.

Those sure do look very nice. I have shavette and was thinking of doing the same like you did with yours.
