    Default Finished re-scale job today

I picked up a Henckels 75 from ebay with broken scales. The blade is in very nice condition, so I tried making a new set of scales for it.
I used a scrap piece of Ebony I had on hand. Used the old scales for the profile.
Many folks on here had helped me with "how to" stuff, for which I'm grateful.
There are some flaws with the piece, but over all I'm happy with them. The blade is centered, tight and the CA glue finish came out very nice. You could see it if I was better at taking pictures.
The peening was a nervous deal. LOL

The pics are sad. With the razor laying in your hand, it looks like a jewel. All shiny and glossy.
Shaved with it last night and it was very nice. A new favorite in the rotation.
I need to learn how to take close up photos.

That looks like it came from a seven day set. Is there anything written on the spine such as a day of the week. Those scales look fabulous, excellent job.

Good eye. I tried reading the heavily ornate font. I came up with Dienstnn, which is gibberish, where Dienstag is Tuesday.
So, it is probably from a set and is Dienstag.
    Thanks for noticing.

Great job on the scales. I've got some nice ebony I'm wanting to try for scales; thanks for the inspiration!

I was about to ask the same thing. Top of spine etching usually means it is from a set but you figured that out.

Go for it. The wood worked nicely during shaping. Although hard to see, mine has some very nice brown hued streaks that give it a rich look.
Sorry the pics can't pick up how nice it turned out, but definitely use your ebony. You will be pleased.
