Thanked: 25Finished re-scale job today
I picked up a Henckels 75 from ebay with broken scales. The blade is in very nice condition, so I tried making a new set of scales for it.
I used a scrap piece of Ebony I had on hand. Used the old scales for the profile.
Many folks on here had helped me with "how to" stuff, for which I'm grateful.
There are some flaws with the piece, but over all I'm happy with them. The blade is centered, tight and the CA glue finish came out very nice. You could see it if I was better at taking pictures.
The peening was a nervous deal. LOL

Thanked: 25The pics are sad. With the razor laying in your hand, it looks like a jewel. All shiny and glossy.
Shaved with it last night and it was very nice. A new favorite in the rotation.
I need to learn how to take close up photos.

That looks like it came from a seven day set. Is there anything written on the spine such as a day of the week. Those scales look fabulous, excellent job.

Great job on the scales. I've got some nice ebony I'm wanting to try for scales; thanks for the inspiration!
