    Default KaBar cleaver rescale

Not a straight, but a sharp object
i did nothing to the steel, just rescaled it with box elder.
interesting project, I've never used rivets so a learning experience. CA finish and ren-wax. Cut the scales out to a ruff shape, then I drilled the holes for the rivests with a special bit..took a bit to figure that out on another piece of wood. Got the two rivets hammered in and the third....I must have gotten a little to rammy with it and split the wood on one side. So I preceded to glue it back together and fill with box elder dust and CA. Can't say it's professional looking but for a first attempt I was happy.

is that the natural color of the box elder? it looks gorgeous, would make pretty scales on a razor too!

No, it's dyed. Yeah for a pinkish red color the wood is pretty wild looking. Definitely scale worthy material!
