9/8 Reptilian in pepper jade
This one was handforge to shape, and then finished / ground on the belt sander. The size is 9/8 half hollow. Because of the shape of the tail, I wanted to do something special with a link to the animal world. Of course, it's a razor so there is no direct translation. I shaped the tail like something a reptile might have. Then the tang would also have a hump where shoulderblades might be, the belly of the tang like the curved underbelly of a salamander, and I thought the oblique point was a bit like a head pointing to the ground.
And of course, with a reptile in mind, the pepper jade color pattern was perfect. I used glow in the dark kirinite for the butt spacer, just because I like it so much. It's just one of those little fancies. So, without further ado:
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Very nice, love the smiling blade, size and shape
Does the cut out thumb notch effect honing at all?
But at 9/8" it's no shorty, its a full large blade just looks short because it is so tallSaved,

It's just a little bit shorter. I think it's around 2.5"

Thanked: 884There you go again. Gonna have to put taller sides on that box you keep thinking outside of.
Nice work! I admire your grinding ability. As someone who has ground more than a few knife blades, I can tell you've got your ducks in a row.
