Thanked: 40Filarmonica Doble Temple 14 in Mun Ebony
I while ago, I got a good deal on a pre-1950 Doble Temple 14 from an Argentinian seller. The razor arrived looking polished and nearly shaved ready, but its scales were of poor quality (Argentinian replacements). For such a fine and venerable razor, it seemed fit to give it some proper scales. I gave it some mun ebony scales, hand sanded it up to a shine and cured the wood in mineral oil. I used microfasteners with two sets of washers. Here's the picks from inside the workshop:

I like the look of ebony, the wood suits the blade I think.

Thanked: 40@silverloaf -- Thanks!
The scales are a tad on the wide side -- probably around 1/8 in or each piece of wood. These scales would be overkill and comical for a smaller razor. They work well with this Fili, though, because the shank and spine of the razor are very wide. I've heard other people comment that some of these old Filis have spines/shanks that are wider than huge Sheffield meat choppers.
