Puma Kayser & Ellison Lauterjung & Sohn solingen Restore.
Puma Kayser & Ellison Lauterjung & Sohn solingen.
This beautiful blade was given to me by the extremely kind Ollie AKA Rev-O from over on the UK shaving forum the TSR, It's an early Puma made from the best Sheffield silver steel a full hollow 13/16 round point the original scales were cracked at the pivot and in pretty poor state, well lucky enough I had a beautiful vintage set in a lovely Ivory colour off a scrapped 7/8 they were of a far better quality and fit for a blade of this standing, well during the mock set up I could instantly tell it looked has if the scales and blade had been waiting for each other they looked so perfect I made a blood red wedge and matching blood red spacer and a three pin set up has these scales came without the middle pin so this was added, well the razor has been fully restored and honed and ready for her first outing I hope you like the razor and the restore. PS I forgot to add I will be restoring the lovely little Oak box the razor came with, it looks like it was one of a pair.

Thanked: 3228Another well done job on saving a razor. To me, the use of a red wedge and spacer just seems to fit with that era of Puma. They were a nice touch.

Oh wow that's a pretty razor. I completely agree with you Jamie, that colour combination works exceptionally well. I especially like the middle pin.
I can't wait to see the razor/box combination. Are you planning on re-lining the box or preserving the blue?
Congratulations. That's a keeper for you!!
