True, Bill. Scales like this don't appeal to everyone! "Dinner and a shave?" :rofl2:
Oh well! I like 'em! ;)

Really really nice Tom! I have several Hawcroft & Pearson as well as Hawcroft & Sons 'Renowned' razors and they are most definitely among my favorites. Great steel! This one of yours is a Beaut...a wonderful restore Tom.:tu

Stunning Tom....... just stunning.
Me likey, Me covetee, me cry.
Very nice. I was thinking you could use the container for a shave soap, but I am not sure how that would react to the ivory. The scales do look like they belong with the razor.
Excellent Tom - the scales were probably from the pressings they used to make silver handles for knife and fork canteens of cutlery - two halves silver-soldered together, then the tang inserted after filling the hollow handle with that knifemakers glue. A friend made some for me once - a mixture of brick dust, pitch and resin. You heat it up and it goes pretty solid.
Love the little pot. Dates from either William Hawcroft seniors time (father of Isaac who in turn was father to another William) or after the partnership of Isaac and son William was dissolved.
Regards,
Neil
A fantastic choice of scales. Especially when paired with the Ivory Container. Class all around.
Thanks for sharing.
In my opinion, this ivory container was a pill-box
