Default $5 worth of Flea Market Goodness!

Bought this razor for $5 at the local flea market. Germania Cutlery, The Oxford Razor.

Scales are broken. Surprisingly, there was no inner washer.

Blade is pretty clean. 20 or 30 minutes with some Mothers yielded this.

Got some Birdseye Maple that will make beautiful scales.

Nice Birdseye Maple. Are you treating it with anything like Tung Oil?
May your lather be moist and slick, the sweep of your razor sure, and your edge always keen!

Very nice job well done!!! A good $5 investment plus whatever the scales costed you to build.

Thank you! As to cost, the wood for the scales was given to me by a fellow guitar builder, and the CA I used as finish was about a dollar's worth. I probably used .75 or so worth of Mother's, so not counting the cost of my time I've got around $7 in this razor. And it gives a lovely shave.
