Love the blade and wedge line up. I'm a fabric artist and use coffee and tea baths to sometimes over dye a fabric if I want a subdued color or on white fabric for soft browns. One question, how thick are the scales? I have some that are 1/8" thick and want to use them to re-scale a 6/8 W&B faux frameback, but am concerned it might be too thin.

My scales are approx. 4mm thick (3/16"). If the material is dense enought with no cracks, 1/8" will also work well.

Thank you, will try without the backing. Another, maybe obvious question. Should the Camel bone scales be coated or soaked in something like neatsfoot or castor oil before cutting them out? Shouldof ask it in the first post.

I dont use this oil. To be honest, I had to google, what it is I always cut the bone, like it is. The only point is, to care that with cutting and sanding the bone will not to be to hot. Otherwise it will smell even more horrible, than it always do

I agree completely - bone is an amazing material to work with and finishes beautifully with just a really fine sanding and polishing. I just use the same Autosol 'polish' that I use for my metalwork.

I agree with all of the above, just a wonderful razor, executed amazingly well. Congrats. MY question is, what about the BOX!? I love it! Again, great job and thanks for sharing!

The box is a product from China. I found it in a shop for jewellery boxes. The price is so good, that it is not possible to make a similar one by my own for this price.
