Default George and Freddy get new clothes.

Got Mr Savage redressed in a pair of period scales that are bit too long. I'm hoping he grows into them.

Meanwhile, Mr Reynolds has been languishing in the nude for a couple of years. Time to put a stop to that an put him back to work.

Those look FINE, Wullie! Nothing like period stuff to get them going proper. Great job!!

PS, that old Reynolds might have you throwing rocks at the Savage!

I've been wanting to get that thing up and going for a while. Had that pair of scales and they were warped 7 ways from Sunday. Got PO'd, whipped out the ZIPPO and started heating them in different places and putting them back where they belonged.

It worked. Fixed a set of wonky W&B scales for one of our wounded warriors that way too. Tried shimming one side and it looked like doot, so I figured WTH, and went for it. It closes dead center now.

Burn to learn, learn while you burn, or something like that.

You straightened warped horn scales with a Zippo? Oh PLEASE bring it along for the next meet! We shall have a demo! I have the warped scales, BTW!

Celluloid was originally invented to replace the ivory in billiard balls. They found out after the fact, that if it wasn't done just right, it ended up being a version of gun cotton. The billiard balls that weren't made just right, had a tendency to explode. I'm sure you can imagine how hard it must have been to keep your concentration up for the next shot when the previous one had blown a hole in the table.......

Later on Remington used a version they called PYREMITE for pocket knife scales. Those had a tendency to ignite in your pocket, once again requiring a LOT of concentration to make the next shot when your pocket is flaming......
