Two More Down
Finally got around to finishing these two. They have been sitting around for awhile now, but I have been getting side tracked. First is a 5/8 Buck Bros. in Camelthorn scales with a tung oil finish. Don't know why there isn't anything special about the blade, but as soon as I seen this one I had to do something with it because I just liked it. I wanted to add something else to it so I made a nickel silver plate and decided to pin it with copper for something different. Tried for a partial inlay so the plate would stick out alittle bit and when I went to fill in a tiny gap with sawdust and CA it soaked into the wood and now there is a shiny spot near the plate. Can't see it in the photos. Second is a 5/8 Erik Aton Berg in dyed stabilzed maple burl. I was going to make a silver plate for this one also, but the added weight would have thrown off the balance so had to go with just a CA finish. I think I went alittle heavy on the CA finish because it thickened the scales some and now its a tight fit in the box.
