Hammer finish is an interesting thing. On the one hand, a hammer finish razor should require less work. But otoh, I don't get to make any corrections by sanding or grinding, because I cannot touch the surface without losing the hammer finish. So a hammer finish razor should be shaped 100% correct from the start. this means it has to be absolutely straight, and with the notches and features exactly how I want them. And that is more challenging than making something with some extra room for grinding.
