    Default first custom builds

I have been shaving with a straight razor for about a year and enjoyed every minute. Being a type of person who likes to tinker, I started restoring ebay razors about 6 months ago and enjoyed the hobby.
I only have basic tools but I though they must have not had expensive belt grinders in the 1800 hundreds. I really enjoyed the project anyway.

Here is the results, please comment with any suggestions or improvements

Two Australian woods, red mallee and white Coolabah. Both were very dense and came up well with hand sanding and buffing.

No problem, there both out of 1/4" stock o1 tool steel. The dark scaled one is 9/8 wide the other 8/8 at its widest point. Both are as close to full hollow as I can get at this point.

Very nice, they are much nicer looking than my first razor that's for sure!

Please read the rest as constructive criticism, I sometimes wish people would have been a little more maticulous when judging mine.

As a whole they are absolutely excellent for your first ones, and as always as time goes on you will hone (pun inteded) your craft. But it always seems the first ones are a bit bulky, don't have that "flow" and sometimes guys try to do to much on their first couple. But like I said they are excellent for your first go around, and all that stuff will fall into place, just make sure you put usability before looks... because in the end that's what matters... unless you're just making art.

Wow, hard to believe those are your firsts.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.
