2 8/8 Dorko in giraffe bone
I had a request for a couple bone scales. The owner sent me the new blades and some Giraffe bone to use for the scales. The bone slabs were rough, real rough. Heavy mill marks, voids etc... I had to back fill some spots with epoxy to get them all leveled out for the scales.
He wanted adjustable fastiners so I dug some up out of my scale supplies. The wedges are Gabon ebony with traditional 1/16 brass rod pins and washers. I forgot how much I hated working with bone. Stinks to high heaven, much worse than horn. They got a high grit sanding a polishing to give them a nice sheen. Turned out pretty good in the end. I patterned the scales after an old Wade and Butcher set.
