    Have often wondered why the swedes were so prolific in the use of Ivory for scales.

    I've wondered the same thing myself. Maybe to show it's a luxury product?

    Not a clue,have never seen a Spanish blade in orig Ivory,very few German blades, a few Sheffies.

    Indeed. Maybe they used a lot of walrus tusk ? It must have been easier for them to get that type of ivory.
