Default First Restore and Scale Fabrication - Schulte Peacemaker w/ red micarta scales

Here's some pics of my first restore. It was my first straight razor and the practice blade that Ive been practicing my honing on. Buffed it up, too care of some rust spots and fabricated the scales. First effort, but I'm pleased enough.

Excuse the cell phone photos. Our house computer finally but the dust recently, and we're all mobile for the moment!

In my opinion, it is a lot better than my first attempt. You now have a usable razor and a razor from which to modify and gauge your progress in the future.
Nice job! So many would not have tried.

The scales are red linen micarta and the wedge is ivory paper micarta. My first time working with either material. Very versatile. I'm excited to use the rest of the ivory paper micarta for my next project.

Looks great Andy, thanks for showing what is possible for a first restore.

BTW Did you use the razor to lop the top off the pumpkin in the 3rd picture?

    In fact, I did.
