Greaves and son Chasse ébène incrustation nacre

Thanked: 154Strange thing to post in French on an English speaking community, but well
Parce que c'est du très très bon boulot (bon, en même temps venant d'un admin...), je vais traduire
As I admire the work done, let me translate it for everyone
In the US I bought for a bargain a Greaves and Son blade which had been tinkered with, chiefly with home made scales, probably for the sheer need of some.
Therefore, this razor had no other value than its wonderful steel
Thus I decided to freshen it a bit, by restoring the blade, and making new scales (shape inspired from the start of the 19th century ones) using ebony and MOP inserts, fixed with cyano, ivory wedge, old fashioned washers pinned with maillechort, and here you have it !Beautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.

Thanked: 154Gents, I am sorry to report that there has been, somehow, a quid pro quo with The Viking.
He did not take too kindly the first sentence of the above message, which was not written with any ill intent from my part, just mere surprise.
I guess he did not, as he may have imagined I was shunning him, understand that painstakingly translating his words as faithfully as possible was in a way an homage.
As a result, I am sad to report that he told me in a private message that he would not post anymore, and I feel guilty for it since most of the restoration works he's posted here are gorgeous.
So far, he has not answered to the apologetic message I sent him.
Therefore, if someone know him, please tell him that, as far as I am concerned, he is very welcome to continue contributing here. More so because from what I've heard he is a kind gentleman.Beautiful is important, but when all is said and done, you will always be faithful to a good shaver while a bad one may detter you from ever trying again. Judge with your skin, not your eyes.

Well, do not talk more, when in your message, I just looked and I can not find?
Regardless, it's a done deal, I regret just before deleting your account with us you board not posted advantage, because if I post about value in a shared goal, yours also the CCC beautifully made.
Get all my friendship and the desire to re-register if you one day, it will be a great pleasure and without a second thought!
If your talents with computer you could reduce the texts of my post, I made a pit maneuver and it sucks!
Good year-end party CHRIS
