not a razor but its gonna be custom
so i have this cheap thin bladed meat cleaver that i almost use every day , i can thin slice veggies , meats , whatever and dice it or cut it how ever so it has been very serviceable to say the least .. well as much as i have searched ive yet to find something similar and wouldnt ya know the handle broke off !!! so doing some cleaning the other day i think i may have found a solution ! , im gonna cut one of these antler tines off , slit it down the middle on the band saw , pick up a couple brass bolts and throw this thing together .. thinking i will go just past that cut out in the blade
here is the starting idea .. !!
ya i know nothing fancy but i miss this blade already ..lol

Thanked: 1184That is going to be cool for sure.
I know your pressed for time but I would go acrylic maybe a blue glass color and maybe add some brass bolsters too it. Dubl Goose ?Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Whew! I thought you were going to make a razor of it! Or 3!
I think you are good in making the handle of your antlers. I can truly see how handy it must be!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Great idea gooser love the antlers. To your not being able to find a thin "cleaver" type knife try your local Asian food market. Most of them carry cooking tools and that is where I have gotten mine in the past. They are cheap easy to sharpen and get very sharp. They are used a lot in traditional Korean and Chinese food preparation. Just a thought if you wanted a back-up for the "old tried and true".
Anyway like I said love the horny knife idea!
Oh and yes I use the same one at work all the time. It's a beautiful day somewhere I hope!

great idea! i had a friend do something similar, instead of the delicate horn, he used an old hatchet handle. turned it into one bad ass cleaver. you get lots of leverage.
