    Default Kamisori and Leather Case

I made this Kamisori last evening and shaved with it this morning. It is 52100 steel with a rattan handle wrap. It took a little bit to get used to shaving with it, but it worked very well. It needed a case, so I made the leather box case today.

Looks nice, i really like the colour and finish of the leather.
what stops the blade edge touching the case though?

Thanks for the kind words. Two winds of tissue paper :-)

Hi Onimaru55 - You are a sharp observer (pun intended) :-) I read up on Kamisoris and how people are shaving with them. I decided to make this way so that I can shave the right side of my face right handed with the wedge side against my skin. Then I shave the left side with my right hand with the curved side against my skin. I ground the wedge side higher and less acute. It is still in the bounds of traditional (I looked at a lot of photos before I made it). It shaves beautifully both ways. I can also shave with the flat side against my skin right handed, but not as easily with the grain.

Puns are good . My sharp eye also says the pics are taken pre honing. Yes/no? or maybe you used tape ?
I noticed the ridge was a little high but a good shave is the main thing.

Yes, sir. I used tape on it. I have some very old wrought iron from the 1800's and a nice piece of Japanese Blue steel. I want to forge weld them together and make a very traditional one. Have a great weekend!
