    Not only bone but thin bone as it would have been back then. A great piece of work! The shape of the scales is very similar to the era of the razor.

    Thank you Richard. I did not see the desired level of translucency in the bone I was striving for until they were thinned to less than 2 mm. or about 5/64.

    Interestuing way that you use the original scale as the guide for shape. My usual method is to create a template and then transfer that onto masking (decorator's) tape on whatever stock I'm using. Your method is more accurate I think - the problem with templates is that they tend to get enlarged just be using a felt tip - or whatever, around the outline.
