7/8 suminagashi 'talon' in Toxic Red and black kirinite
I am toying with a new design, inspired by a talon (the claw of a bird of prey). This is the first one I made. The idea was to come up with something that looks as intimidating as the claw of an eagle, or perhaps the iconic claw of the velociraptors in 'Jurassic park'. For a first try of a new design, I am happy with the basic shape.
At first glance, you might wonder if this thing would handle ok or not, because of the shape of the tail and how it connects to the tang. Let me assure you: it does. It strops well, has a wonderful ergonomy. Oddly enough, this thing handles perfectly as a fixed handle razor as well.
And then I figured that if I'd add scales, they should have an aggressive color, so I went with toxic orange and black kirinite.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
