Thanked: 9Plated Greaves ?
What do you think? Looks plated but from what I've read it's too old to have been. $17 ebay smash-n-grab.

It's just the way the rust lies. If you can get it for that price grab it, before I do.

Thanked: 4826It needs a little work but the lines are in good shape. They so often get blown out over time with honing and regrinding. It will make a great project razor and a nice keeper. The price is great too. They don't come around looking that good for that kind of money too often. Looks like the scales are in good shape too.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I don't think it's plated. The finishes on some of those old razors can be really impressive.

Thanked: 9Again, hope yall are right. If not, I'll make the best of it I suppose. Either way I will update with pictures when it arrives.
I popped into eBay last night to buy some scale material and came across this. I thought the same thing about the price and condition and hesitated because it had been listed for a few hours with a really low BIN.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
