    Yep, what happens at the pivot is determined by the wedge but uneven pressure thru the range of movement can also indicate a bent pin if you hit to hard. Thrust washers do tend toward freer contact pressure but always very even & smooth.

    I love how the wedge end is pinned. It looks a bit like a ship hull. I've always wanted to attempt scales that have a Viking ship appearance, including the lapped board look.
