Thanked: 2591King Mftg Co restore
This restoration started as original restore idea and transformed into a full custom restore.
One of our members sent this razor to me for restore and honing with the requirement that I bring it to its former original glory.
Upon receipt it turned out the scales are warped. I tried to straighten them out but that rarely works with celluloid, at least for me, so we decided on gost jade G10 in the shape of the originals.
The blade has a lot of etching, which I wanted to preserve as much as possible so I buffed with 400 and 600 greaseless and then went to town with sandpaper and SiC compounds all the way to 3k. After that I buffed with polishing compounds to blend the sanding scratches and bring out a good mirror finish.
I think the blade turned out very well, and most importantly all etching is intact.

I love the G10 ghost jade scales. They almost look like glow in the dark material.
Very nice!!

Those are some great buffer skills to keep the etching and shoulders so crisp, very nice.
