15/16 Elliot FBU and a Wostenholm & Son IXL...
Here's a couple of original vintage restores I just finished...
A 15/16 Joseph Elliot For Barber's Use and a Wostenholm & Son 'The Real IXL Razor'. Both have the original restored scales.

Thanked: 4826Beautiful job on those. I find it interesting that both of the Elliot for barbers use blades that I have are both have that marking on the blade and yours on the tang. Yours also has no Royal Warrant on them. I wonder at what point did Elliot stop using the Royal Warrant. Nice work on the gold of the lettering. It can be very trying of ones patience.

Thanks Rezdog! Good point on the Elliot. I have another Elliot FBU that is like yours...marked as such on the blade face...and I have no idea when they stopped using the Warrant. Perhaps one of the local historians might comment about this.
You're right about the gold lettering...requires a lot of patience. The hardest part for me was rubbing off the over-lap around the letters. It required two coats to get it done to where I was happy. But I really like the look!
Thanks Mike! She'll shave like the dickens....
Thanks Substance. I always appreciate your posts and the thumbs up from you!Lupus Cohors - Appellant Mors !
